On June 12, 2021, China Life Singapore, in collaboration with China Enterprises Association (Singapore), hosted the second seminar of the series on “Prevention and Healthcare for Cardiovascular Disease and Colorectal Cancer”, the event was a great success. Mr. Lin Xiangyang, Chief Executive of China Life Singapore and guests from China Enterprises Association attended the event. Dr Michael Lim Chun Leng, Medical Director of MWH Medical Group and Dr Foo Kian Fong, Senior Consultant at Parkway Cancer Centre shared on cardiovascular disease and colorectal cancer to over a hundred attendees. The audience responded enthusiastically and engaged the experts actively in the Q&A session.

On the day of the seminar, Mr. Lin Xiangyang first extended a warm welcome to all esteemed guests and clients, and expressed our appreciation for their longstanding support. Guest speaker Dr. Michael Lim Chun Leng is the Medical Director of MWH Medical Group, and a world-renowned interventional cardiologist. Dr Lim shared on the pathology of cardiovascular disease and hereditary risks, how to select the appropriate screening tests and the accuracy in using non-invasive techniques to assess the coronary artery and the current gold standard of screening as well as future development of screening technology.

Guest speaker Dr Foo Kian Fong is Senior Consultant and Medical Oncologist at Parkway Cancer Centre, he is an expert in cancers that affect the gastrointestinal tract. Dr Foo shared on the causes and symptoms of each stage of Colorectal Cancer, as well as treatment options and their effectiveness, and how to prevent and mitigate risks through healthy lifestyle.

The Q&A session was invigorating, as our experts engaged the active audience and answered their questions including the effectiveness of several drugs and health supplements in prevention of onset and post-surgery recovery.
