On March 27, 2021, China Life Singapore, in collaboration with MWH Medical Group, kicked off the first seminar of the series on “Prevention and Healthcare for Cardiovascular Disease”, the event was a great success. Mr. Lin Xiangyang, Chief Executive of China Life Singapore, gave an opening address. Dr. Michael Lim Chun Leng, Medical Director of MWH Medical Group delivered a talk on the latest breakthroughs and concepts in the prevention and healthcare of cardiovascular disease. Mr. Gao Feng, Chief Distribution Officer of China Life Singapore, shared on the health related risk management concepts and practices for the elites. 16 valued clients also attended the seminar, and participated in one-to-one health assessment and private consultations.

MWH Medical Group, a partner of China Life Singapore, is first in the region to launch an Asia Reference Centre with Siemens Healthineers. The Medical Director of MWH Medical Group Dr. Michael Lim Chun Leng is also world renowned interventional cardiologist and Chancellor and President of the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology, as well as Dean of the College of the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology. He has received numerous honorary titles in Medicine in China, UK and other countries. As the keynote speaker of the event Dr. Lim shared the latest research, such as ischemic heart disease and stroke being the two most prevalent causes of deaths in high-income countries, diabetes increases the risk of cardiovascular disease by about 200-300%, and calcium supplements increases the probability of onset of cardiovascular disease by 30%. Dr. Lim also shared updates in the accuracy of non-invasive procedures for assessing coronary artery disease, enabling cardiovascular disease to be discovered and prevented in the early stages.
